This is a concept that quiz guru Alex Love has been bringing it the Fringe for nearly a decade now and taps into the British love of a pub quiz merged with stand-up comedy, and judging by the sell-out late afternoon show there are plenty of punters who are up for a challenge.
With some ice-breaking warm up comedy to settle everybody in, Love explains his theories , passes on a wide range of facts that may or not be useful to the subsequent quiz which will follow.
The audience is divided into teams, and the quiz commences, delivered in quizmaster style for three rounds of questions, some easy, some from the facts we were told earlier and a few damn near impossible, there are also bonus points awarded along the way, but one and all joins in with the spirit of things , laughter is generated and points are calculated to find the eventual winner. And yes, there was a winner’s prize too!
This obviously is not a ground-breaking show, no hidden messages or the like, but it is a bit of fun, and a pleasant way to spend an hour in a Fringe afternoon.
