Trainspotting Live - 5***** - One4Review

Now this is an experience, be prepared to feel all the emotions, and not necessarily in combinations that you are used to. Everything from start to finish was impactful, though depending on your seating, more so for some than others. Expect (pretend, I hope) bodily fluids and nudity. Expect coarse language at high volumes. Expect a charged performance that will leave you speechless while uncovering a part of Scottish culture we all like to keep hidden away. Choose the Fringe, choose Trainspotting Live, choose one of the best shows you’ll ever see.
All the technical pieces are great, the stage, sound, lighting, props, costumes etc, give it a solid 90s vibe. The cast themselves are what really makes it, everyone really sells their character, giving nothing left to the imagination for fans of the book and film alike.
I would need to caveat the review with the fact that if the film and/or the book are not your cup of tea, then the show definitely won’t be either. I’m not taking my mother to see it put it that way! However, if Trainspotting is your thing, get down to the EICC ASAP, it’ll knock your socks off!
