Mark Row : Class Act 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 12, Aug 2026
As the title might suggest Mark Row is a comedian most of the time, but also has a day job, as a teacher. A drama teacher to be precise and for the month of August, at least, he is a full time comedian. And he’s really rather good at it!
Mark decided back in 2017 to make a documentary about following his dream to become a stand up comedian and take his show to the Edinburgh Fringe. Mark’s self deprecating humour might suggest that he hasn’t quite reached the dizzy heights of stardom that he dreams of, but has established himself as a fixture on the comedy circuit, and returns to the Fringe.
The show is full of anecdotes from the classroom. The students and their equally challenging parents are the source of much of the material. The age old excuses for dodging homework and getting creative with punishment are all part of Mark’s relaxed storytelling repertoire. He cleverly interacts with the audience by asking if there are any teachers in the house. Mark handles the audience banter with such ease. He is very relatable with his references to being a dad and a husband. He has the like ability factor.
Mark is such an engaging performer and it is clear that his years in the classroom, being in charge and holding each and everyone’s attention in the room, was time well spent. As a comedian, Mark really is a class act. A very funny and well written hour of comedy.
