English comedian and writer Bella Hull, a seasoned Edinburgh Fringe performer and ‘Have I got news for you star’ brings her latest stand-up comedy show ‘Mad cow’ to the Fringe.

In front of a sell out show, a heavily pregnant Bella waddles on to the stage holding mic in one hand and baby bump in the other, despite her pregnancy and that her Ex-boyfriend is the father of the child to be, she has vowed to go on but is everything really as it seems? After a brief interaction with the front row audience, she goes on to talk about how she’s always found it hard to understand boys and suggests it might be because she was brought up by neurotic parents. Her fruitcake baking grandmother now 85 and now suffering from Dementia, has always been a hoarder but she didn’t keep the one thing Bella gave to her as a child, an award-winning poem! Bella then visualises the outcome if she appeared on ‘who do you think you are’ stating Kate Middleton was her mum? She then hilariously describes the royal family’s reaction to the news!

The show rolls on at a steady pace as Bella describes her flat mates casual sex attitude with disapproving yet envious jibes. Bella then tells a story how when she spent a bit of money to get a puppet commissioned thinking it would add value to her performances however when she reveals the puppet that’s supposed to be a schoolboy, you can’t help but laugh at the result.

Next up is the Donkey sanctuary that unbeknown to her she contributed towards, but did you know they now have too much money, and do you know what they spend it on? There’s then a funny comparison between her AD/HD and her grans dementia and if you are a Gen Z hoarder, can you guess where they keep everything? She closes the show with her improvised but funny adult version of the poem she lost and gives the audience a brief emotional insight into her journey as a comedian.

Bella Hull is a confident performer who thrives when on stage, the audience immediately warm to her as she gets them laughing from the outset. This show has many punchlines to laugh at and the rapturous applause at the end was well deserved.
