For years now Matt Forde has been producing the goods when performing his trademark political satire through any medium available, TV, radio, his much-vaunted podcasts and of course live on stage. Forde has an uncanny ability to identify accents and traits in the frequently changing political environment we endure today. And he is right on form again this year.
With so many political figures being almost caricatures of themselves anyway, it must be difficult, but Forde gets mileage out of Andy Burnham, Keir Stamer, Ian Anderson, Ed Miiliband, Kemi Badenock, Zack Polanski, Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Rayner are all featured, oh try as we might, he can’t forget Farage and DJT. Facial expressions, intonation and capturing the voices, almost make one think they were in the room Heaven forbid! However he gets belly laughs at them all.
Of course, Matt has had issues with his health over the last couple of years following a bone cancer diagnosis, he gives an update on the progress and is not afraid to poke a little fun at himself along the way.
It is normal for sold out signs to be posted for his show each and every year. If you have seen him before, go again, if you haven’t, do your best to get a ticket and see a master of his craft at work.
