Kim Blythe is mid-run in her third Fringe run and having regularly sold out previous shows has landed herself a room upgrade and is still packing them in.
Blythe is a personable, chatty comic, totally relaxed and has an ability to write material that is both funny, well structured and relatable. It’s like your funny mate talking in the pub.
Born in the central belt in Scotland and now living in Glasgow, widely followed on socials, Instagram and TikTok especially, this hour is largely centred on a day in July last year when she left her phone at home and went for a day of solo drinking. She introduces a few of the the people she interacted with and a way of passing the time sans phone.
There are numerous other anecdotes as well, extracts from her neighbourhood WhatsApp group displayed on screen, an opportunity to party with Alan Cumming in Pitlochry, fashion and references to her mental health, mining gags and laughs from every bit of source material.
Twice nominated for the Sir Billy Connelly Spirit of Glasgow award Kim’s career in definitely on the rise, and it wouldn’t be any surprise to see her name added to the great alumni in the near future.
