CADEL – Lungs on Legs – 4.5****

| On 27, Aug 2026

I have to admit I am a bit of a fan of The Tour de France, so I was very much looking forward to seeing “CADEL – Lungs on Legs”, and I wasn’t disappointed. For this is a wonderful show that delves into the depths of what it’s like to be a rider in cycling’s most toughest of races.

Connor Delves is an absolute powerhouse, pedalling his way through the history of Australia’s first ever winner of The Tour, Cadel Evans. It’s a hell of a journey, but one he was destined to be a part of from a very early age growing up all over Australia. Being invited to attend the Australian Institute of Sport was a game changer for him and it further fuelled his ambitions even though the training is rigorous.

After competing for several different teams, we get to see how brutal this sport can be, whether its through injury, broken bikes, bad teamwork or bullying by over-bearing team managers, it’s a very high-pressure environment.

There’s lots of actual footage and commentary throughout the performance and Connor does a magnificent job of bringing this awesome show to life.
