Felix and the Scooterman:- Self-Help Yourself Famous 3***

| On 12, Aug 2019

So what happens to popstars when the hits dry up? Many things I suppose but the two remaining of The Hoosiers, Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland have reinvented themselves as former pop sensations Felix and the Scooterman, and are running this Brit Academy approved course to make every attendee famous.
This five step plan is mainly presented by front man Felix Scoot and Lee Delamere, the drummer playing second fiddle, but the rock that keeps it all together.
There are good points to this show, the songs and dancing have definite merit, but the comedy is not the strongest witnessed on the Fringe today. The five point plan often seems to be very secondary to the other issues, such as those involving space hoppers and ‘Radio One’ and breakdowns.
Not being totally au fait with the Hoosiers history I am not sure if it is ‘their’ story or a generic piece about the music industry in general. It is a pleasant way to spend an hour however, but whether this will self-help them to be as famous as comedians as they were as recording artists I have my doubts.
