These showcase events can sometimes be a bit hit ‘n’ miss, however “The Best of So You Think You’re Funny”, was definitely a big hit!  Treated to the delights of 3 fairly new stand-up comedians, each with a very different style and persona, but all very funny.

Ciara O’Connor opens up with a punchy set, and although their delivery seems a little rushed in places, there’s no hiding talent and enthusiasm.  This Manchester based comedian has a sack load of witty put downs as well as funny memories and observations.  Some lovely interaction with the audience adds to a thoroughly entertaining comedy compilation.

Next on the bill was Bert Broadbent, a proper East End Geezer, who, although he may resemble an Oasis tribute act, instead he gives us a very cleverly worked routine.  Plenty of laughs from this London boy, genuinely affable and a hit with the crowd.

Fab Goualin wraps up the night with his own unique brand of humour.  Wearing his infamous black beret, he has a great command of the stage and an air of confidence.  His material is well executed and delivered in such a way that we are absolutely hooked on every word.

The Best of SYTYF is an excellent platform for acts to do bigger and better things, and all 3 certainly seem to be on the right track for that.
