Krystal Evans – A Star is Burnt 4**** - One4Review

American born Krystal Evans has been on the Scottish comedy scene for quite a while, and following on from last years critically acclaimed show, The Hottest Girl in Burn Camp, those of us who hadn’t seen it were given a smartly put together AV synopsis moments before launching into the 2025 offering.
Drawing parallels with A Star is Born, the Lady Gaga / Bradley Cooper version, Krystal regales the enthusiastic audience with her early life warts and all in Washington State, the family’s life in the fast food industry, her love of drama leading to college and comedy clubs in NYC, and meeting her future husband, a chef, along the way.
The story is peppered with laughs, sad moments, gasps as real life is likened to the afore said movie.
After moving to the UK, now married, with kids and pushing 30, she finally got into the comedy world that she craved, and mused that why didn’t she start while in New York in her early twenties. Still better late than never Krystal.
The is plenty of light and shade in the show, good times and bad, but is put together in such a way that there is never a laugh very far away.
Looking forward to the next instalment already.
