Chris Fleming performs his show with 90s nostalgia, humour and magic tricks leaving your mind blown. For me growing up in the 90s, the nostalgia was real with a variety of props and outfits that took you right back into the decade. Chris even managed to bring some of his own personal childhood into the show, which is effective as these types of shows are just as much about the storytelling while incorporating the magic.

I was not sure what to expect before the show. I anticipated popular 90s tunes but did not fully appreciate the “magic” part of the show was in fact magic tricks. Chris performed these tricks using 90s themed props and audience participation. Chris selected members of the audience delicately, ensuring no one was put under pressure and allowed them to perform as they saw fit, while keeping the entire audience captivated. I’m still trying to work out how he managed to do what he did with his tricks. The variety is what makes this show work, not just one man performing several tricks.

The show was child friendly despite the later timing of the show and although the concept of the 90s was lost on some of the kids, it did not affect their engagement or participation. The venue was small, warm, and minimalistic however it did not affect how the show was performed and there was plenty room to move around and dance if requested to do so. Due to a sounding error at the start we were all deafened by high pitched mic sounds but this did not affect the show. It seemed to go well otherwise with soundings and visual aids.

Highly recommend if you are interested in magic, nostalgia, and some light-hearted laughs.
