Geoff Norcott - Basic Bloke 2-There's No Bloke Without Fire - 4.5**** - One4Review

Geoff Norcott never fails to deliver and his latest offering, “Basic Bloke 2” is no different, it’s an extremely good, top notch show. He has a knack of absolutely hitting the nail on the head every time, with his tales of how he’s navigating middle-age.
The room is packed out and we are in for a very entertaining hour of his observations and reminiscences. He creates a wonderful feeling in the room and you find yourself leaning into his stories and nodding along to every little nuance and funny situation.
There’s still plenty opportunity for him to have a political rant, but he’s totally on the money. Nice engagement with the audience, without it being painfully overplayed like some stand-up. Geoff’s very much in charge and his command of the stage and crowd is impressive.
As middle-age descends so does ill health and all that it brings with it. Visits to the doctor, dealing with the NHS, he’s experienced it all recently and come through it unscathed fortunately.
This is a very well written and beautifully performed show, a cracking example of what good comedy should look like. Nothing basic here, it’s a premium product that you’ll thoroughly enjoy.
