Margaret Thatcher Queen of Hollywood 5***** - One4Review

Margaret Thatcher Queen of Hollywood 5*****

| On 18, Aug 2026

As someone who grew up in Glasgow in the ’80s and ’90s, I never imagined I would ever give anything involving Margaret Thatcher 5 stars except maybe reruns of her funeral. However, here we are, and this show gets an easy 5 stars, and I’m not sorry at all.

There’s satire literally dripping off the walls and ceiling from start to finish in this hilarious trip to Hollywood with Margaret leading the way. You can tell this act has been going for a while; it’s polished, it’s reactive, it’s adaptive to the audience, and it’s overall enthralling from start to finish. The lead’s portrayal of the Iron Lady is perfectly respectful and outrageous at the same time. There are elements of grace and sophistication, an almost reverence for the former Prime Minister, which go hand in hand with comedic disdain and snootiness, which I think even Mrs Thatcher herself would have appreciated. You can tell this is a performer who is practised in their art and also revelling in it.

The supporting cast are great as well, providing a fresh voice alongside the more mature elements of the show. The costumes and props are hilariously low production value, which only adds to the ridiculousness of the scenes and provokes even more laughter from the crowd. The venue was absolutely packed, the crowd loving every minute of the show, laughing, booing, gasping, singing, and clapping away as if their lives depended on it.

This is more than an excellent drag performance; it’s more than a hilarious satirical comedy show; it’s more than a theatrical nod to storytelling. This is one of those shows that really is greater than the sum of its parts, and I recommend you get tickets if you can because I can see this being a sell-out run.
