Out of the Blue– 5*****

| On 17, Aug 2026

Out of the Blue are again back at the Fringe for a 22nd year, the a capella group from Oxford University for obvious reasons have an ever-changing line up but still manage to delight the audience in Edinburgh year after year.

They open with Raye’s “Where is my husband “and the energy is palpable from the first line, and the vocal harmonies are sensational from the start.

The majority of the cast get their chance to shine individually and the performances from Thomas singing you give love a bad name and the most incredible beatboxing solo stole the show.

The cast are continually moving around the stage and it’s really hard to pin down which sound is coming from where which adds to the audience’s amazement.

This a show for all ages and a family show is not complete without some Frozen numbers as well as some tunes from other musicals.

Proving research had been carried out on all things Scottish we, finished up with rendition of “Yes Sir I can boogie” which has become an anthem of the Tartan Army and several of the audience were on their feet.

A fantastic show with showstopping talent.
