Britain’s Got Nonsense 3*** - One4Review

Britain’s Got Nonsense is a lighthearted comedy musical panto style romp from an ensemble of four key performers. There is, of course, Simon Cowell who is only perhaps slightly more self absorbed and camp than the real thing. A dim and highly ambitious Amanda Holden, a power mad Sharon Osborne, but she does show her caring side when it comes to caring for the wheel chair bound, dementia stricken, incontinent Louis (Loulou) Walsh.
There are songs and even some very loosely choreographed dance routines. It’s all very silly but the key players are talented performers who carry the loose plot along nicely.
The real villain of the piece is Sinitta. We never actually see Sinitta but she has stolen the magical scepter from Simon to become the all powerful one who gets to hire and fire. Simon is naturally distraught to lose his powers.
There are some nice comedic touches. Amanda is quite obsessed and mentions at every opportunity, her best friend, who is the very famous comedian Alan Carr. While Sharon is obsessed with being regarded as a global icon.
Unfortunately, the show was not well attended on this particular Monday lunchtime and this show needs an audience to be part of the fun vibe we see on stage. There is much potential to develop more of a plot twist and deliver some punchlines but it remains a fun hour of silly camp nonsense.
