This Is Torture is Seann’s much anticipated brand new show. Here we find Seann has turned forty and is father to two young children. Life has moved on from the scandalous days of 2018 when he was photographed kissing his dance partner. This, he references early on and it gets a bit of a cheer! This is a good start as tonight’s audience do not always react on cue and apparently we are a less receptive audience than last night’s! This just adds to Seann’s exasperation.

There is a hilarious opening monologue on how the audience perhaps came to find themselves at this particular show this evening. There are lots of things that irk this forty year old that just seems to come with the territory. Losing your phone could not be more anxiety inducing, and for this self confessed scrolling addict, this is indeed, torture. Vanity has gone out of the window and been replaced by the comfort of a nice pair of Sketchers. What’s not to love? Seann yearns for a simpler time when you could go to McDonalds and be served by a dim but functional human being. Ordering your McDonald’s via a touch screen is just the digital age gone too far.

Seann also questions the qualifications of the ex stand up comedian Vladimir Zelensky to be Prime Minister of his country, and Ukraine is at war! He imagines what it would be like, and does some spot on hilarious impressions of three of our top comics, if they were in charge of the country and our war effort.

Seann’s physical comedic skills are excellent as he throws himself around to great effect to highlight a number of punchlines. The anticipated applause following some clever stunts doesn’t land as expected. This is understandably exasperating. I blame the audience! This is a hilarious hour of comedy and Seann is on fine form.
