The title and premise come from a comment posted on Creeger’s social media: “Who do you think you are? The Queen of the Jews?” This got her thinking: “What if she were Queen? Could I have my own Jew-bilee?”

Drawing on everything from hosting a Hanukkah event in London to her television work, and a TV show called Curvy Bride Boutique, which does exist, is a joy. The audience participation, dispelling misconceptions and tropes about Judaism, hits, and a smart lean-in to test the waters for what is to come.

Around the midpoint, we get choppier, darker tides. Using the familiarity of British terror threat-level totems of low, moderate, substantial, severe and critical, she applies them on a similar scale as a grader of legacy antisemitism aimed at her and her family. These tales are horrifying, but essential for the show to work.

Overall, Creeger has constructed a devastatingly smart, funny and increasingly powerful piece that takes the audience into the darkness before expertly bringing us back towards the light.
