The self-proclaimed witch of West London is back with a new hour of mystery, mischief and magic, inviting us into her slightly skewed world of sleight of hand, disappearing audience possessions, card and rope tricks, and a surprising number of eggs left to her by a great aunt.

Beaux is an engaging guide through it all, performing with a mesmerising ingenuity that has you wondering, despite yourself, whether some of this stuff might actually be possible. There’s also beautifully phrased reading of a classic gothic piece, and a devilish 80s toy deception.

And then there’s the silliness. Because really, who doesn’t want to see a painted egg flying around as if it has been training for this moment its entire life?

But the real joy isn’t the tricks, good though they are; it’s the charismatic Beaux herself. She’s playful, mischievous and slightly unearthly, like Glinda from The Wizard of Oz after taking a wrong turn and wandering into an alternate dimension where the laws of physics are more of a loose suggestion.

It’s a great, thoroughly charming hour, full of wit, warmth and wonderfully odd ideas, performed by someone who clearly loves what she does.
