Jason Byrne: 30 years Byrning 5***** - One4Review

Another outstanding performance from Jason this year as he celebrates 30 years in the business. His 60 minutes of sharp witty crowd work combined with planned material provides a hilariously unmissable show. Each show is different as Jason pulls his material from his audience.
The audience is treated to a showcase of Jason throughout his 30 years of comedy with some familiar faces included. It was really interesting seeing some skits that I never knew he was part of. We were then treated to a further hilarious slide show of the past 30 years, with a familiar theme tune backing. However, if you were born after 1995, the concept would likely have not twigged!
Jason then emerges, not in his usual smart attire, and there begins the evening of unpredictable hilarity. Again, Jason expertly works the audience with hilarious outcomes. The way in which he can link the most diverse spectrum of people without preparation is just fantastic to watch. Jason barely got through much of his prepared act but he really did not need to. The audience was captivated throughout and we were all laughing continuously.
This show went way off piste but Jason was having so much fun with it. The show brought sewn up bottoms, America, Catholic/protestants and wealth as hot topics while certain audience members appeared to have an inability to talk! However, Jason worked with it and it was the funniest thing I have seen all festival so far.
As ever, I cannot fault another hilarious performance from Jason. His masterclass in crowd work never has a dull moment, he certainly does not allow dull into his show. Highly recommend if you are looking for guaranteed giggles.
