The title is, of course, very tongue in cheek as Annie realises that there are actually no boys that she has loved before. Now happily settled and in love in a same sex relationship, but how did she get there?

This is the story of how it took twenty one years to come out and also of being slightly cross that no one told her!

Annie is an exceptional storyteller. This is not a show which is packed with jokes. The delivery style is dead pan, low octane and Annie is not afraid of the long pause. This is a brave risky strategy in stand up but Annie manages to pull it off.

The audience is captivated by Annie’s recounting of stories about hailing from an “only gay in the village” type scenario when relocating to Sydney from a small rural village in northern Australia. She tells the story of how she accidentally came out to her family mid performance after her Grandmother and Auntie surprised her by turning up at one of her gigs.

There are a couple of cute videos and images of the young Annie growing up and finding her creative streak. This cleverly adds another dimension to the show.

We learn that Annie has two sporty brothers, has sadly lost her mum and it seems significant, at least to Annie, that she was a cesarean birth.

There is little to no audience interaction which again is quite a brave approach and can result in a lack of engagement. This is not your typical stand up comedy show but Annie’s unique style is her strength and one which marks her out as a quite a unique performer.
