Jupiter plays out a 3 way conversation between an estate agent on Jupiter, explaining what Earth is like to a couple who are considering moving there from Jupiter.

The jokes and setups are befuddling for some at the beginning, It’s enjoyable to hear a collective “Aaaahahahhah” from the audience as they land, the laughs becoming more consistent as people get into his groove. Expect waves of laughter being sneaked up upon by bursts, when a punchline or piece of wordplay is particularly smart.

Auton’s language is intricate, warmly funny and in typical fashion, an ingenious mix of stand-up, spoken word and childlike wonder cloaked with whimsy.

His ideas build on top of each other towards increasingly satisfying crescendos, and there’s never any doubt that we’re in the hands of a skilled master performer. He wryly pokes fun at himself with the foolish statements audience members have actually said to him throughout his run.

There is simply no comedian in the world as good as Auton at what he does. He is a comedy category of one. His message: why aren’t we shaken with awe at the amazement of it all?

The constant amazement isn’t sustainable, he intones in a yorkshire drawl, summarizing the entirety of humanity’s “getting through it” approach to life. Perhaps that’s why Auton exists, to signpost us towards wonder;? He is at heart “a gooder doer.”

I want this review to signpost the happiness I felt leaving that auditorium. This show will undoubtedly sell out , Auton again causing traffic jams of people flying a bit faster towards happiness on earth , thanks to him.

Frogs are real, I thought marveling as I left.
