Not my usual type of Fringe show but I am a great believer in making an effort to see things outside your usual comfort zone. Well, boy oh boy, “Ndlovu Youth Choir” is an absolute triumph, I feel incredibly lucky to have seen them perform, because their show is simply breathtaking.
I saw a sample of them singing Bohemian Rhapsody at The Assembly Show case and that piqued my interest. Their vocals and harmonies are stunning; each arrangement is so different to anything I’ve ever heard before. Their energy and dance moves are in synch and I have to say, this is one of THE BEST shows I have ever had the privilege to review.
Hailing from rural Limpopo in South Africa, these talented youngsters are living their best life. Making the finals at Americas Got Talent being a particular highlight.
The show is filled with emotion and joy, and they flit from pop music to classical without missing a beat. Make every effort to catch this show while you can, it’s my absolute pick of the Fringe so far and deserves way more than 5 stars. There’s 12 stars right on stage singing their hearts out and leaving us a show in our hearts that I certainly won’t forget.
