Tori Morancay- Le French c’est Freak 1.5* - One4Review

Tori Morancay is a French born comedian now living in a polygamous area in the United States, she speaks very good English with a strong French accent.
When the petit comedian confidently enters the stage, she looked almost like a schoolgirl and butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. She went to two schools, Catholic school and circus school for clowns. After making some light comparisons, she explains the efforts she went to, to get a guy at school to date her, when he said no, her plan to make him say yes spectacularly backfires resulting in her being bullied at school.
Unfortunately, the show went downhill from there as she discusses the benefits of dating ugly or fat men and going into intimate detail before comparing her intimate part to an equivalent airline. Her use of explicit language did not compliment her image as she continued to divulge her sex life including getting drunk and waking up in bed with an elderly man. Just as you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did. The subject of abortion was introduced into the show as Morancay tried to turn abortion into humour with some extremely controversial analogies. Her blasé approach to abortion continued and at this point the whole audience were stunned into complete silence and didn’t know where to look.
Morancay finally changes the subject and talks about the time she was falsely arrested before returning to the topic of sex with some more surprising antics. She then discusses how going to the fish market makes her horny and explains why. After barely 30 minutes, she suddenly ends the show.
Where to start, I think due to Morancay’s accent, she struggled to deliver the punchlines as they just came out as if halfway through a sentence instead of the ta da, boom boom effect. I genuinely believe there is a comedian in there somewhere which didn’t come out for this show. The topic of abortion and how she tried to humourise it completely backfired and shocked the audience. The show was billed as being 50mins but barely lasted 30mins, I don’t know if she cut it short as she had lost the audience or whether that is the actual length of the show. Despite a promising start the show was controversial and disappointing.
