A Haunted House — 4**** - One4Review

This was a one of the most original shows I’ve seen! One man takes the audience around a “haunted house”, playing various characters along the way, including vampires and zombies. He does this mostly by miming and using different voices – no costume changes here.
What a performer! He was excellent and completely committed to it. There were some very funny moments and I really enjoyed the ridiculousness of the whole thing. There’s quite a lot of audience participation, which I found funny, although I know for some people that will be their absolute worst nightmare! No spoilers but a musical number halfway through was awesome.
It’s a show where you need to be up for this kind of thing. If the idea of being dragged into a slightly chaotic haunted house with one man playing all the characters sounds fun, you’ll probably have a great time. If not, this probably isn’t going to convert you.
It did feel a little unfinished in places, like it could do with a bit more tightening up, but the performer himself was excellent and made the whole thing work.
I had a really good time and laughed a lot. My face literally hurt from laughing. I was blown away by his talent and the way he kept the audience enthralled. My 14-year-old daughter was considerably less impressed, which possibly tells you everything you need to know!
