Since I first saw Colman Hayes perform at The Fringe in his show, The Best Man, I was instantly hooked on his sense of humour and comedic style. In his new show, “Don’t Make A Fuss”, we see a darker and more twisted side to this engaging Irishman, and it is absolutely tremendous.
In a fairly cosy venue we experienced a different side to this very funny comedian. Who knew that Irish trauma could be so hilarious. It’s a polished performance, beautifully pitched and although he sometimes deliberately wanders off track, his energy and infectious personality completely add to our enjoyment.
Stories about his family and recent dating mishaps, although very funny, pale into the background when he unleashes his take on religion and the bible he has us all in hysterics. His facial expressions are priceless, used to great effect to enhance his tales.
He has an ability to unpick situations and put his very own slant on them which is truly joyful. He delivers a very confident performance, and he’s a natural on the stage. A thoroughly enjoyable adventure through the murky depths of Colmans psyche, one that I enjoyed immensely.
