Aaagony Aunts 3*** - One4Review

Aaagony Aunts 3***

| On 08, Aug 2026

Louise Leigh and Pauline Eyre are the eponymous aunts, delivering a show that from the very start is more like actually going round your lovely aunt’s house than a Fringe show: cosy and relaxed and welcoming. Two guests share their problems – today Laura Walsh and Alan White were the delightful pair – and Louise and Pauline posit a variety of solutions, solicit some from the audience, and let fate decide which one the person with the problem should ultimately adopt.

Though the right guests and interesting problems might elevate the show, it’s already starting from a solid base thanks to hosts Pauline and Louise. They do a great job eliciting additional details, coming up with solutions ranging from the sensible to the silly, and where relevant adding stories and suggestions and generally proving their own skills and quality as performers.

Space was offered for audience problems, and this too felt inclusive and comfortable; Pauline and Louise as easy with complete strangers as with their invited guests. The show would make an easy transition to an audio-only format, providing gossipy, funny, friendly company. It has no airs, but lots of grace, and was a lovely way to spend an hour.
