Bounding onto the stage, in a smart suit over a fancy tee shirt, he is not normally a fancy guy, he loves dungarees, even bought himself dungaree shorts for the summer, he quiped.
There are two main threads to this show, an appearance on Irish version of Dancing with the Stars and the love of his life, his cat called Boots.
Farrelly reluctantly agreed to do the dancing programme on the condition he danced with a male partner, he did, because he thought it would up his profile for further work, not so much.
Farrelly is a non-stop livewire on stage, never still for long, never far from generating a laugh. A genuinely funny man and likeable character his writing is crisp, his delivery and stage presence with a wicked sense of humour.
The closing stories were of being awarded the role of a Grand Marshal at a Pride Parade and how that went, shall we say, astray, followed another by purchasing materials for his new hobby were worth the admission money alone.
This was the first time I had seen him perform, rest assured it will not be the last.
