Richard Pulsford — Gold Fashioned Jokes 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ - One4Review
one4review | On 16, Aug 2026
Fife resident Richard Pulsford is a busy man. Three daily shows this year at the Edinburgh Festival, he’s starting with his midday stupidity, Gold Fashioned Jokes.
“Hands up, who loves Mexican Waves?” And we are off.
So what follows is not just puns, throwaway lines, or clever wordplay jokes that are so stupid they loop all the way back around, catching everyone off guard.
Train travel, conspiracy theories, plenty of cultural references – Sean Connery, Sade, and Adele play nicely into a well-put-together construct, and the audience knows what they have bought into and love it.
But it’s not just the jokes; he judges the beats well and, when one doesn’t quite land, he has better ones in reserve. In fact, there are a couple of genuine contenders for joke of the Fringe in there too.
This is a fun show from someone who knows the game well, with a crowd and the shared joy of laughing at something daft, clever, or occasionally genius.
Well worth a visit.
