Biglowe is back in Edinburgh, and word has spread. A packed-out back of a record shop, no seats, standing room only and a queue like a conga line out the door.

He starts by telling the crowd that he still has the looks and a persona like a man who can find you mushrooms at the drop of a hat. He’s happily married too, convinced the only reason they are compatible is because of their air signs.

After the excellent obligatory crowd work is over, this year’s show theme is impressions and perception. It stems from an unusual interaction with what he called a self-diagnosed imposter reviewer (aren’t they all), that wasn’t quite what was thought, but does give the thread that runs through the show.

From the excellent wedding costs, the reality of musician survival and the sanitised parent retirement plans, Biglowe is on fire. His travelling exploits, from Thailand and Bangkok to dealing with the phenomenon of Digital Nomads, have the crowd in stitches.

But he saves the best until the end. Fast Pass at Disney for entitled elitists just kills, and the crowd absolutely love him.
Last year he proved he had the chops and walked the walk; you’d be hard-pressed to find a peer at the moment so in control of the craft and writing. This is a comedian operating in his own little laboratory of invention, knowing exactly what works and when to deploy it.
Onward to bigger things shortly, so catch him in his current guise. He’s about to grow out of this enclosure soon.
