Harun Musho’d is a brave man. He’s read from the political memoirs available covering David Cameron, Theresa May, Liz Truss, Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson, and more and is trying to make sense too, especially when he’s fact-checked them, turning it into his own political Beetlejuice-like, head-spinning experience. And the results are, quite frankly, jaw dropping.

From David Cameron and the referendum, rebellion tactics and even his earlier life, it shines a light on exactly where their heads might have been when writing and attempting to rewrite the truth, or at least bury it.

There’s Theresa May, who comes over like a haunted clothes hanger, which is an eye-opener, especially when looking at her major ward seems to be with herself and the then Speaker of the House, John Bercow.

Boris Johnson is full of flim-flam artistry, especially as a Brussels correspondent for The Telegraph, which is beyond belief, while Covid being dismissed as just bat-flu is laid bare.

And as bad as that gets, let’s remember Liz Truss and Matt Hancock, who, so busy looking after number one, seem to have forgotten there was a country attached to the job. Rishi Sunak doesn’t have an autobiography, but Simon Harris’s book fills in the gaps, and it’s a tale of going down with a submarine and taking the ocean with it.

Musho’d is engaging, has done his research, and, comedically, has Private Eye smarts. This is an hour we rarely see these days and well worth a trip into the dark, back and rim side of the political spectrum.
