It is always a shame that a performer, who has obviously worked hard on their Fringe Show has a small audience, most of which are English, nothing racist here, just would they ‘get’ some of the local references, but this is what faced Bob Graham.
He has been away from the comedy scene for a while, his last run was in 2018,and then he went travelling because of the potential issue of travelling in 2020. I last saw him in 2017 so it had been a while and a lot has happened.
Graham has always been a funny comedian. He writes well, has an easy delivery style and is a likeable guy. This is still there obviously.
It is a shame that he didn’t get the laugh out loud reaction to some of his gags, and the more local stuff didn’t always land with the English contingent, however with a bigger home town crowd I am sure would have achieved the desired effect.
To his credit Bob didn’t let it show. He delivered a confident set never letting the situation get to him. Obviously, the amount of this he could do was limited, and I know that he is very good at that
Graham is a comedian who deserves more, why not give the chance
