AI: The Waiting Room - An Audiovisual Journey 2.5** - One4Review

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the latest technology to land on our doorsteps, and it was only a matter of time before it appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. However, like a lot of technology, its susceptible to breaking down. To be fair, this was the 1st show, and technical difficulties were to be expected. The show was delayed for 15 minutes before the audience were allowed in. You are also advised to have plenty charge in your phone and to bring your own headphones as this is required for the show. This was not advertised prior to attending.
When you enter the room, you are required to scan a code, if you have an older phone, you may not be able to participate. Once you scan the code you are invited to answer a series of questions, these questions will help to compile a future story of yourself. This process took the best part of 15 minutes to complete as everyone in the room waits for everyone to complete their questions.
Once your 30-minute story starts, you are taken on a futuristic journey of you and your life, during this journey you need to follow on screen prompts and are encouraged to interact with other people in the room until you come to the end of your story.
This show is definitely work in progress and if you are not technically gifted, you may find the whole experience a bit confusing as a few of the elderly audience members did. I believe there is the makings of a good show here, but it needs to move along at a quicker pace and tidied up a bit.
