Mark Thomas – 100 Acts of Minor Dissent – 5***** - One4Review
one4review | On 06, Aug 2013
This review is never going to get written if I keep looking at websites and joining in Minor Dissent, but it’s very hard not to. How can dissent be so inspiring? Because it’s in the hands of a consummate professional; consistently funny, and frequently thought-provoking.
So far, Mark Thomas has reached 23 acts of minor dissent, though his definition of minor seems high, from the effort involved for dog-turd photo sticks, to not merely book-heckling, but inspiring the nation to join in, with occasional arrests getting a passing mention.
His passion for his local area, about the decline in community standards, and for showing big corporates that they maybe don’t own the entire world is infectious, and if you don’t find yourself with an urge to photo a policeman, buy an Arsey Cops calendar, or sign up at WeWillDriveThemTo TheAirport.co.uk, I’d be surprised. That’s if I wasn’t so busy looking for spare roof tiles.
Clearly some of this review makes a lot more sense if you’ve seen the show. You know what to do…
