Adele Cliff : Adele, Adele, Adele…Cliff It Isn’t the Consequences of My Own Actions 4**** - One4Review

Adele Cliff made her Fringe debut back in 2016 and returns with a brand new show. The show covers quite a random array of topics. Adele launches into her performance with much assured confidence of a stand up who is able to command the audience’s attention, and take us on a journey into her take on life.
The show has a loose theme, or at least a topic that is revisited throughout, and that is how a certain percentage of the population lie, more than others. Comedians, we are told, lie way more than anyone else! That old staple of a stand up telling you how a funny thing happened on the way to the show. . . Chances are, probably didn’t happen!
This revelation aside, we are taken through a variety of topics which impact Adele’s life. The show doesn’t always have a natural flow, and the gags are told in quite a rapid fire style, that it is sometimes quite hard to keep up with the pace.
A trip to Romania, the difficulty with contact lenses, an A&E experience, batch cooking, Which magazine; I did say it was random!
This is a funny well written show which gives us a little insight into Adele’s life. The major piece of information which we are granted, is that sadly Adele’s mum has died. The handling of this news is cleverly delivered with a light of touch, and in a matter of fact way, which is something of a trade mark Adele Cliff style.
