Alex Kitson : This is Water -3.5*** - One4Review

Alex Kitson, is back at The Fringe, following last years success, with his new show, “This is Water”. It’s a light-hearted routine that genuinely has something for everyone, geared around his central joke about some fish. He bursts onto the small stage, and he cannot contain his enthusiasm nor his nervous energy, It’s a very creative standup set, and gently meanders from place to place, dropping funny stories and quick witted gags and puns at every opportunity.
He’s 28 years of age now and his friends have moved on, had kids, but he’s still trying to sort out his life. The cost of living is high, he’s working in a school and checking out which coffee house fits his social class.
Kitson has some very good material, that he delivers very confidently, with just the right amount of sarcasm. He happily shares his views on a vast array of topics, all with the same level of knowledge and wit. In doing so, he makes some very valid points.
A thoroughly enjoyable show and I don’t think it’s going to be too long before this small fish gets to play in a much bigger pond.
