Carl Donnelly certainly knows how to entertain an audience. He has a vast array of experiences in doing so and boy is that evident.

He has everyone at ease from the get-go, he is achingly funny, full of jokes and anecdotes, more than ample to fill his hour with merriment and then some.

After amiable chats about his venue, Donnelly follows on with this show was going to be different than what he had started writing, however he thought it was too dark and instead came up with this version, both for him and his well-being.

His gags flow from the off seamlessly from a variety of topics,  a happy family life, his serious medical condition, also those of his daughter’s issues, searching for an illegal shebeen whilst in India, the common language of sports stars  and potentially having an embarrassing accident while aiding a mate at a comedy club, oh and a little bit on morning drinking, Carl mines the laughs from all of the above.

This is a great feel-good hour. Donnelly is enjoying it, he loves doing stand-up, something that is patently evident, and the audience loved it too that’s for sure.
