Vlad Ilich - The Immortal Game 4.5**** - One4Review

Vlad Ilich – The Immortal Game 4.5****

| On 01, Aug 2025

Do you play chess? Can you remember what all the pieces are called and how they move? Vlad Ilich, North Macedonias most famous export, after Alexander the Great and Mother Theresa, will take you on a checkerboard journey on how chess has played a massive part of his life,

From growing up in the Balkans to now living in London, Vlad weaves his experiences into this very engaging and entertaining show. Survival and strategy tactics have led him to this point in his life much like the game itself.

Family influences have played a big part of his formative years and it would appear that chess is more than a game but rather a way of life to him. His storytelling is very natural and he has a great sense of wit. He manages to make light of what must have been incredibly difficult times being a young boy in a small Balkan state with a heavy Soviet undertone.

Featuring as a regular in the Soho comedy circuit, Vlad cleverly uses his passion and obsession as a source of entertainment and is certainly “one to watch”.

“Check” out this show if you’re looking for a witty take on what some might see as a boring board game. He’ll even take you on for a game outside the venue, but be warned, he’s quite a player.
