Deep Heat (WIP) – Erin McKinnie 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 08, Aug 2025
I went to this show unaware that it was a work in progress, something that tends not to get reviewed, but on arrival was met by Ms McKinnie and informed of the change. I was still invited to stay, an offer I was glad I accepted.
Erin is a ‘local’, well okay she now lives in London, but is Scottish. I saw a snippet of last years show in a compilation and decided it would be worth while checking out a full show.
Erin is a bright, bubbly, friendly, chatty comic and an excellent singer also. She interacts with her audience well; there is plenty of funny material and loads of laughs too. Often, she works on cruise liners as an entertainer, and the source of material she has managed to garner, with the clients, older people, finding her man on the ship, flights and a coincidental re-meeting in Adelaide of someone she sat by once on a flight to Amsterdam. As a onetime au pair in Spain, she also has a tale or two to add to the repertoire.
The audience was with her all the way joining in, and certainly laughing out loud throughout.
I went to review this show not knowing this was a work in progress. I have to say I finish it the same way. I have seen numerous shows nowhere as complete as this one.
