Beth Knight is a painter. The show is part stand and part Ted Talk. Beth is a very natural communicator and has a chatty friendly way about her which draws you in and is entirely captivating throughout.

We are told that Beth has had some career highs and lows since gaining her degree in Art from a prestigious university in San Francisco. We are guided through some depictions of the female form through the ages. A few chosen masterpieces are shown on screen to illustrate this point.

It seems that women’s bodies have been objectified forever. Beth is a proud feminist and would like to celebrate the female form, her own female form, on her terms. She is an extremely talented artist and we are shown her work. The nude self portraits are without vanity and Beth explains her thinking behind each painting.

This is a funny show in part as Beth is such a natural story teller. We hear of her move to London and landing a well paid, if less rewarding, job. Losing said job and her struggles with living alone during Covid. This was clearly a very tough time but now living in Glasgow and leading a much more productive and personally rewarding life.

Creating art that she believes in, and achieving her ambition of performing a stand up comedy show based around her art, has been realised.
