Diane Spencer: All-Pervading Madness - One4Review

4 Stars ****

Diane Spencer has up to this year slipped under my comedy radar, but she has won or done well in a number of award categories I decided it was about time I checked out her show.

Tall, slim and red haired Ms Spencer took to the stage for her hour and explained that the show was about a nightmare journey home one night.

There was initially a back story and then straight into the narrative, peppered with funny and often self deprecating gags and funnies. Interspersed in this tale were a number of anecdotes that explained in a funny way certain events that are relevant to the main story.

She has the ability to paint pictures vividly with her writing, it is almost possible to reach out and touch her characters, and her delivery is engaging too.

She can cope well under pressure too, someone took ill during her show, causing a break while she was tended too, but Diane was able to pick up the show and almost seamlessly continue where she left off.

She is definitely a name to watch out for and it will be interesting to see her progress, so why not check this teatime show out now,
