Trumpageddon – 4***

| On 15, Aug 2016

This was an amusing audience with the frankly terrifying Donald Trump (brilliantly portrayed by Simon Jay.) As soon as he walked on his stage with his bright orange face, floppy hair and facial tics I knew this was going to be a fun show. The show is a combination of Donald’s life story and an audience Q&A. Of course the quality of the show can depend on the questions asked but ‘Donald’ responded to all questions with gusto covering issues such as Europe, Syria, China and his hair. He has much confidence in his pulling power and great amusement is generated by his painful attempts to lure the ladies in the audience. His reminiscences of his grandmother give us an inkling of why Donald may be such an odd personality and his wife appeared briefly to give a speech – entirely in her own words of course! A voice over at the end reminds us all that fact is indeed more terrifying than fiction.
I really enjoyed this show and Simon is a complete natural at audience interaction. The questions asked do not have to be intellectual – so no one need panic. Go along and bask in the orangeness!
