Andy Andy with Andy 4**** - One4Review

Andy Andy with Andy 4****

| On 24, Aug 2024

Dressed in a sharp red suit, Andy greets us at the door, allocating out names on stickers. I enjoyed being Indy, an iteration of Andy without portfolio (compared to Brandy, in charge of Brand Andy), for the duration of the show. This is one of the loosest shows I’ve ever been part of, without it feeling awkward or truly as if there was no show, as Andy started out by telling us. It’s so off the wall that I – seasoned Fringe-goer that I would like to think myself – could not differentiate between planned – scripted? – material, and delightful happenstance (kazoo lady. How serendipitous if not; how exquisitely performed if so).

This show’s playful, and makes fun and comedy out of almost nothing, an impressive feat. There’s no requirement for any audients to be on stage, but the audience is very much an integral part of the show. That doesn’t need to fill anyone with dread (it’s a very gentle use of the audience), but it’s the sort of show that you’ll enjoy more if you’re willing to play, too. It’s also the sort of show where you won’t be able to explain exactly what happened, but you can definitely say that you had a good time, and your hands will be very well moisturised.
