Pierre Novellie:- You Sit There, I’ll Stand Here 4.5 **** - One4Review

Edinburgh Festival Fringe is officially a few days off, but it hasn’t stopped Monkey Barrel Comedy starting their programme early. And why not? It may be a Tuesday night but the spacious MB3 venue was extremely busy, full of early birds enjoying the preview.
I first saw Novellie way back in 2013 and even then there was no doubting his star potential, something he has grabbed and run with, selling out venues world-wide, numerous TV appearances and podcasts, yet whatever the medium he always delivers.
His appearance and material is immaculately presented, he drew laughs from the get-go with a wide variety of subject matter, in what in essence has been his previous 12 months, with a little of his early history along the way.
He describes fairly ordinary subjects like a house move, painting pictures with his hilarious descriptions, be it Brazilian house movers, lost suit carriers, tote bags of frozen meat, Australian hotel rooms and much more.
I always think that when a show is going well the time flies by. It became obvious he was beginning to wind up and I was not alone it thinking he had barely started. I certainly was not alone in wanting to hear more.
Pierre is always going to be a hot ticket so take my advice and book early. You wouldn’t want to miss out.
