John Tothill - This Must Be Heaven 4.5**** - One4Review

This is John Tothill’s second foray at The Edinburgh Fringe following a near death experience in 2024, which he will share with you in graphic detail.
His comedy is sharp, witty and clever and he is quick to build a beautiful rapport with his audience. We are immediately drawn to him and his effervescent style. It’s non-stop humour and his energy is boundless.
He seamlessly bounces from topic to topic and his timing is impeccable. He’s an excellent storyteller and although he often goes way off track, we are somehow always brought back to the subject at hand.
His stand-up routine is laugh out loud funny and incredibly entertaining. He’s flamboyant and excitable and this adds to his all round charm. His humour caters for all ages and there’s a really nice flow to it.
Having been part of a drug trial and deliberately catching malaria in order to fund his show, definitely shows how much he’s committed to his craft.
This must be heaven is a very carefully constructed piece of comedic work and the audience interactions are perfectly executed. This show is joyous and a hits the mark.
