I enjoy seeing a “Work in Progress” show, seeing what jokes land and what miss the target.  I have to say in Phil Cooper’s show “And Such (WIP)”, there are way more hits than misses.  Which leads nicely on to his missus, as she features quite heavily in this Welsh guys stand up routine.

Cooper never thought he’d get tied down, wasn’t the marrying kind, bit of a free spirit.  And then he met the love of his life in one of the funniest first dates that wasn’t actually a date and was conducted in complete silence.  Absolutely brilliant.  Romance blossoms and soon it’s time for the next step in the relationship, and to prove his love, he takes on the task of organising their wedding in a small town in the Welsh valleys.

His pace and delivery are very good indeed, and his material hits the spot with the crowd.  Well constructed stories merge into one another rather seamlessly, and even though he has to occasionally refer to his notes, his home grown tales are quite lovely.

Definitely one for the diary for next years Fringe, I’m keen to see how this show develops and grows.
