Seymour Mace Does Things with Stuff 4 ½ **** - One4Review

Seymour Mace Does Things with Stuff 4 ½ ****

| On 02, Aug 2025

For more than a decade one of the first shows I try to see during each Fringe is Seymour Mace, eager to witness what pearls he has on offer each year.
Mace is the oft nominated Geordie comic who has the ability to create a niche that none can rival. His seemingly random recipe covers many topics and styles and boy is he creative. And he mines laughs from everything.
Mace, who has a first class degree in Fine Art, was a late diagnosed ADHD sufferer who is addicted to … making things from stuff, and his creations generally come from recycled materials are many and varied, but always hit the mark, be it fighter planes, head puppets, owl eyes also audience participation games, balloon animals, his creativity is seemingly endless.
A man who lives life on his own terms, who encourages us all to never be afraid of failing cause you will only get better, has opinions on TV personalities, sport and how he is happier than he was before, has stopped hating himself and looks for the positives.
There is still plenty of his old self around, he eschews a mic, he performs with the lights on, windows open and the trademark calling to passer-by, but this is something that works well for him and is much loved by the crowd.
He is inventive, tries things others would struggle with, is a one off and in the comedy world and is a breath of fresh air.
His lunchtime slot is the perfect one for setting you up for a long Fringe Day. If you have seen him before you know, if you haven’t why not try it for yourself.
