Jessica Fostekew – Iconic Breath 4 ½ **** - One4Review

Jessica Fostekew first came to my attention waaay back in 2011 when I took a chance on her show. Since then I have seen most if not all and each one has always delivered.
The 2025 offering, is on a shorter run than normal, she quips that she is not burnt out or jaded, just as well, ‘cause true to her natural style, Jess does speak very quickly and one must listen hard to get all the gems she delivers.
As usual the subjects are diverse. Her late grandmother, and her history, prior to retirement and achieving her ‘Dolphin Moment’, lead Jess looking for hers. Then there is her son, who despite being raised by a feminist mum, is totally into ‘lads stuff’, her partner and their domestic difference, becoming a dedicated soccer mum, finally having her team to support and a rather unexpected philosopher are all places, amongst many more she leads us through.
This is a delightfully written hour, Jess has charisma and stage -presence to burn, finding laughs everywhere, yet with serious messages to. Often self-deprecating, the stories she relates about being a pall bearer at her grandmother’s funeral and experiences at a Swiss airport are worth the admission alone.
