Laura Lexx – Slinky 4**** - One4Review

one4review | On 16, Aug 2025
Checking my records it is hard to believe that the last time I saw Laura Lexx was back in 2019 and a lot has happened in the interim.
Since then, she and her husband Tom have bought a house just before lockdown, she got two book deals, and after years of trying, finally became a mum, oh and a mum to a dog as well.
Laura regales the enthusiastic audience with tales of motherhood trauma with a daughter who seems to always want the opposite of what is on offer, contrasting this situation with animals and their young. She also has a raft of funny stories and observations about dogs, their owners, and the stigma of not owning a rescue dog.
Ms Lexx also calls herself out on overeating, citing a proper pizza vending machine that just has to be used even when not hungry. There is also material on her parents, the child’s nursery which boasts an app, and a car journey.
The show has pace throughout, wonderfully written and the bubbly personality Laura has fills the underground cave she is performing in.
Welcome back Laura. Don’t stay away so long next time.
