From the Fringe adverts and her flyer somehow I was expecting a little more from Ms Roberts. I love and admire those who can do vocal gymnastics and although there is no doubt Ms Roberts has this ability, I was not blown away by her as much as others in the past.

Whether it was the mid-week few, the drunks on the front row or Ms Roberts having a bad night I just don’t know, but that certain spark was missing. Now do not get me wrong it was not a bad show, but that oomph was distinctly lacking for me.  Her Bet Middleresque looks held great hope and whereas she has a good voice it was not great. The numbers she performed were wide and varied and very full of scope and promise.

I do however look forward to seeing her again as I hope this was just an off night.
