When watching top comics riffing with the audience over a number of years I regularly wondered how much of the pre-prepared shows we  saw, with some very little I always suspected.

Well, I couldn’t have been alone, ‘cause top Aussie funny man Adam Hills decided this year to not prepare a show, but to wing it and search for interesting people in his audience to major on. In truth he admits to having a few stories to fall back on, but in the end he had to shoehorn them in given the material he elicited from Ross a project manager in defence and John a food distribution manager.

The packed out Rainey Hall audience were in stitches, I don’t think anyone could possibly have been disappointed with the hour. Hills really is excellent in his craft, he comes across as a really nice guy, and although one or two were less keen to get involved plenty were. One thing about this show, it will be different each night, so if tickets are available, you could go more than once,

Adam has recently become a dad and a previous audience member had made him a toy for the baby, a strange creature called Honker. He is determined to use this creature a marketing tool to raise money for the Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital, so check out www.adamhills.com for how this is progressing.
